Miniature Hereford bulls in Winter landscape at Echunga
Paragon was pleased to welcome Don Burke--star of Burke's Backyard television program on 8 June 1999 to our Echunga property.
Don displayed a keen interest in our Miniature Herefords, also on the Poll Hereford bull on loan for the day.

Don was interested in height of a mature bull as compared with a 'regular' Hereford. Don measured the height of Seamus across his back. His height was 103 cm
(3'-4")compared with Ace who measured 200 cm (6'-6"). Both animals were 2 years old.
The picture at left shows Don (in striped shirt) casting a critical eye over a Miniature Hereford bull--no doubt mentally comparing it to his own breed of Lowline Cattle.

Don himself has at least eight breeds of miniature cattle. He expressed his interest in all miniature cattle breeds coming together for items such as at shows. After 4 hours of demanding and enthralling interviews and filming, Don and his team departed to interview the South Australian Premier John Olsen. 5
minutes of National Television program time on Burke's Backyard was the pleasing
result.
